James Gunn Says Marvel Studios Will NOT Attend SDCC This Year

According to Guardians Of The Galaxy director, James Gunn, Marvel Studios has some “interesting” plans for this year’s San Diego Comic Con. And by interesting, we mean they have NONE.

James Gunn Says Marvel Studios Will NOT Attend SDCC This Year
Mavel Studios, for the past couple of years, have used San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) as a catwalk for their upcoming releases. Last year, we saw a glimpse at this summer’s Avengers sequel, as well as some details regarding the Paul Rudd-led Ant-Man. Well, as it turns out, according to Guardians Of The Galaxy director, James Gunn, the studio will not be attending the iconic event later this year.

The director revealed, via his official Facebook page, that “Marvel isn’t going…” Rather to the point, don’t you think? While it is easy to say Gunn could be talking out of his Groot (that’s now an insult… Deal with it), it would make a ton of sense for Marvel to sit this year out. The studio proved that they don’t even need Comic Con, thanks to last year’s incredible independently-run show and tell, if you will. The studio brought some fans into a theatre and showed off some titles for nineupcoming feature films. They also showed some new footage from Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

Gunn may in fact be lying to the fans, but it is something to think about. This would make some sense, especially since DC/Warner Brothers. Would eat-up this year’s event with their details regarding the upcoming Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice and Suicide Squad.

James Gunn tweeted this earlier today, which seems to put the nail in Marvel Studios’ Comic Con for 2015. However, what do you guys think about this? Comment below and let us know!
