Marvel’s Spider-Man Short List Revealed!

According to The Wrap, these five actors could be your next Friendly Neighborhood Amazing Spider-Man.

They’ve learned that Marvel and Sony has set their sights on,

Nat Wolff, Asa Butterfield, Tom Holland, Timothee Chalamet and Liam James.

Next week, Marvel and Sony will decide on specifically which actors will receive the last of the test offers. At the moment, none of the five names above has an actual offer, but they are considered as “strong contenders.”

The Wrap reporters say,

“multiple sources have confirmed they are strong contenders who are definitely in the mix as of right now.”

They also expect Sony and Marvel to decide on the next Spider-man in the next 2 to 3 weeks, but an official announcement might take longer due to the negotiations with the chosen actor.

Laim James, 18, is best known on USA’s Psych for playing the young Shawn Spencer. Timothee Chalamet, 20, is a relatively new actor who is best known for playing with the teenage version of Cooper’s son Tom in Christopher Nolan’s most recent film, InterstellarTom Holland, 18, starred in 2012’s tsunami drama The Impossible. Asa Butterfield, 18, out of the whole list, is the biggest name on the list and is best known for his role starring in Ender’s Game. Nat Wolff, 20, is on the rise as well as he turned in a terrific performance as the visually impaired Isaac in The Fault In Our Stars.

Marvel and Sony’s new solo Spider-Man film will arrive July 28, 2017.
