Earlier today, The CW unveiled a brand new picture for their upcoming May 5th episode of The Flash, titled “Grodd Lives.”

The picture, as seen below, shows off a strange, covered character wearing familiar protective armor while exiting a blasted truck. The head protector and outfit look new, the truck looks unfamiliar…and in the spot where The CW usually adds a heading that saying the characters name, it just says “Clear.”

So…who is it in the photgraph?!

All things considered, lets examine this 1987 DC Comics house commercial:

Checkmate was DC’s go-to surreptitious, semi legislative association for a considerable length of time. Regularly avoiding the edges of ethical quality, the association helped work the Suicide Squad and worked with legends like Manhunter (Mark Shaw, who showed up this season on Arrow) before getting to be progressively contemptible. At last its head killed the Blue Beetle as a component of an extensive arrangement to free the universe of superheroes, and when he eventually was killed by Wonder Woman, Amanda Waller assumed control over the association for a period.

It showed up in its ethically questionable shape in Smallville and was pervasive for a couple of years in the funnies taking after the passing of Blue Beetle before blurring steadily away from plain sight for A.R.G.U.S., the favored super-spy association existing apart from everything else in both the funnies and on Arrow. Yet, with Diggle and Lyla leaving A.R.G.U.S. this year, could there be Checkmate later on for the CWverse? Then again would we say we are making excessively of a comparative outfit plan?
