Star Wars Rogue One Casts Diego Luna In Lead Role

Earlier Today, Variety reported that Diego Luna has been casted for a lead role in the highly anticipated film, Star Wars: Rogue One from director Gareth Edwards.

Luna will be also be starting along side Felicity Jones in the film, which will be about a group of Rebels who are working together to steal the plans for the first Death Star in the franchise. Those plans, which of course, were the plans that eventually ended up in the hands of Princess Leia, who turned them over to R2-D2 in the original Star Wars film, A New Hope. The film will take place between Episode III and Episode IV in the universe’s chronology, but obviously closer to “A New Hope.”

In the film, Felicity Jones, Diego Luna and Riz Ahmed are all reported to be playing the films main Rebels, while Riz Ahmed will play the lead villain.
