SUICIDE SQUAD: Viola Davis Says Amanda Waller Is A “Badass” And “Unapologetic”

While on the red carpet of the annual GLAAD Media Awards How To Get Away With Muder star, Viola Davis, was asked by CBR News about her upcoming role in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. The actress was first asked what got her to sign as Amanda Waller and simply answered, “That she’s Amanda Waller!That she’s badass.”
The actress would then elaborate on her response and revealed how she relates to the character of Amanda Waller. “She’s unapologetic, everything that I’m reading and studying about her: unapologetic, no humor, just brutal. That’s me!” Davis then goes on to describe the excitement that comes with portraying “The Wall”. “Listen, she gets to use a gun, t’s my fantasy. Now, I would never do that in life, but when I get a gun on a set, it does something to me.”

 

Directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad stars Will Smith (Deadshot), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Jared Leto (the Joker), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jai Courtney (Boomerang), with Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), and Jessie Eisenberg (Lex Luthor). The film opens August 5, 2016!
